Fundraising
Nova has many fund-raising opportunities that help support our club and allow us to maintain lower yearly fees.
- Nova hosts an annual Swim-a-Thon which continues to be our largest fundraising event of the season. This is a fun club events. Participation is mandatory for all L2AS, Teen Rec & competitive swimmers.
- Every two years we participate in a casino (more info below).
- Every season Nova plans to run one additional large fundraiser such as West Edmonton Mall Waterpark tickets or a Bottle Drive. Participation in the large fundraising event is mandatory. Families have the option to participate in smaller fundraisers such as selling chocolates and gift cards as well as on going fundraisers such as TrueEarch and Skip the Depot. More info about these are below.
- Every competitive, Learn-to-ArtSwim & Teen Rec family provides an undated $500 fundraising cheque that will be shredded at the end of the season once the commitments are completed.
- If families choose not to participate in the smaller optional fundraising events they also have the option to pay out the remainder of their fundraising dollars.
Club Fundraisers
Casino
Nova Artistic Swimming participates in a casino approximately every two years. Nova is dependent on this casino financially, and casino revenues help keep the annual fee accessible to families. Each swimmer registered in the previous and current year must supply a worker 18 years or older to volunteer at this fundraiser. Every competitive, Learn-to-ArtSwim and Teen Rec family provides a $500 undated casino cheque at the beginning of the year that will be shredded at the end of the season once the casino commitments are completed.
Current Optional Fundraisers
FundScrip
FundScrip FundScrip is an online platform that allows you to purchase gift cards for your favorite stores while supporting fundraising initiatives. A percentage of each gift card you buy is donated to the Nova Artistic Swim Club, with donation rates varying by retailer, averaging 3-7%. For instance, purchases from Pizza 73 contribute 12%, Esso & Mobil up to 20%, and most grocery stores like FreshCo, No Frills, Sobeys, and Superstore contribute 3%.

Skip The Depot
Nova has established an on-going bottle drive opportunity with Skip the Depot. Stay warm at home while Skip the Depot comes to pick up your bottles and the money will go to supporting Nova! It is a win-win!
There is no code for skip the depot. Once you create an account you select the organization you want to donate to (Nova Artistic Swimming). All proceeds get transferred from Skip the Depot to our club.
